Heaven Can Wait ~ Bend OR Event Photographer

Sometimes I think the universe knows when to reach out at just the right time and send something your way. That is how it felt when I received a call from St. Charles Foundation asking if I would be interested in photographing their event Heaven Can Wait. I was really excited to be a part of this event and knew there would be so much to photograph. Heaven Can Wait is in its 18th year of holding the 5K race and is always held on the 1st Sunday in June which is National Cancer Survivors Day. The money raised goes to Sara’s Project, a fund of St. Charles Foundation, which provides education, early detection and support services to ease the challenges of breast cancer for people in Central and Eastern Oregon. Over, its existence, Heaven Can Wait has raised more than $1.3 million dollars to benefit Sara’s project. The money raised benefits about 4,500 community members each year. This year the event had 2700 participants and roughly 400 cancer survivors participate in the race each year! Below are a few photos from the event. Hurry Home to Hurry Homies ~ A New Bend Business ~ Bend, OR Portrait Photographer

My wonderful friend Linda asked me to photograph a fantastic new product recently introduced to the Bend community  ~ called Hurry Homies®. We had so much fun taking these photos!!! We hope you enjoy them and Linda’s story below about how Hurry Homies idea was created!!

Hurry Homies is essentially a “Perfect Parking Assistant” Forget the old, ugly, green tennis ball, those belong on the tennis court. Hurry Homies was born as a sweet gesture from my husband Greg. Approximately 3 years ago, I was working full time as a Dental Practice Coordinator, also embarking on a Yoga teacher training which consisted of immersion weekends thru Namaspa here in Bend. It was something I had always wanted to do since finding yoga in 2002, but always put it off and this was my year! The training was amazing and exhausting especially after working all week prior to the weekends. One Sunday night I came home from the weekend and opened the garage only to find a cute creation from my husband hanging from the ceiling welcoming me home. I was exhausted and warmed by his loving gesture. The next morning I was telling him how wonderful it was to come home only to find his creation! He said he wanted me to Hurry Home to him and everyone deserves a Hurry Homie! Thus, the idea was planted, but like all things it takes love, fertilizer and a willingness to fail. Summer of 2016 I was ready to water my idea and take a chance on something born from simplicity and love. Hurry Homies was developed to welcome everyone home to what they love and who loves them, welcoming them home to their authentic self. Currently I have 11 designs and currently working on additional styles to support the Central Oregon lifestyle. To further support our community, a portion of the proceeds is donated to homeless shelters for people and pets, because everyone deserves a place to call home. Supporting local, supports community. My product is proudly made in America! Hoping you find my new creation as whimsical and fun as I do! A snowy session with this beautiful family ~ Bend, OR Family Photographer

A quick, yet lovely photo session with this family in our snowy winter wonderland!! Their snow outfits were filled with color and warmth and we enjoyed our session with the snowflakes falling all around us. There is something about a winter session to capture the sweet holiday cheer, togetherness and spirit of the season. These lovely people really shined with their joy, beautiful smiles and ease with each other. The little snowman in the blue suit kept everyone laughing with his cute giggle and sweet waves. Thank you Colette and family for your adventure for our session! Rings and Cakes and Wedding Things ~ Bend, OR Wedding Photographer

There is something sweet about weddings and the photos that are created in those hours of celebration. The happiness, the tears, the speeches, the people, the dress, the cake and rings all put together to make the day magical, memorable and monumental. In these moments something timeless is happening, the buzz, the excitement all leading up to the wonder that awaits. The photos below are just a small piece of the story, but I thought it would be fun to see the rings and cakes of the some of the more recent weddings I have been a part of. I am booking for 2017 weddings and would love to talk with anyone you know looking for a photographer for their wedding.
